They've been facinating me for ages so I finally gave in and did one..
I'd really be interested in seeing your one if you do. You're already really good.. so even a small improvement would be a super big deal. The improvement curve kinda flats out as your skill set increases, I believe.
Hmmm well, I just took a look in my gallery and I posted my first ever digital painting (Sherlock in profile) on the 21st of Jan 2012 so maybe I should repaint that for the 21st Jan 2014, that could work! I did touch it up a little while ago though so i'd have to see if I still have the original or it wouldn't be a very fair comparison.
even though both pictures look great. You can see the improvements in comparison. You have come a long way. Loki looks fabulicious. hee hee. Oh I haven't seen Thor 2 yet. I hope to go see it with my brother and sister soon
THIS IS AMAZING. I mean, your art has always been fantastic. But this is truly remarkable. The only thing I would say is that I think I might prefer the painterly background of the first painting to the more vectory one of the second. But that's not important, obviously, when Loki is involved
Oh yeah the background.. I deliberately toned it down for the 2nd one, because i thought it was a tad bit distracting to have so much colours in the bakcground.. also experimenting with texture, and adding geometric shapes... garr.. i don't know..
As an afterthought, perhaps it wasn't fair to use Loki as my "Draw this again" meme.. I drew him over and over all through the year.. it's not like I drew him once and left it for a year... so the dramatic improvement may be due to the fact that I just had a lot of practice drawing him.. hahaha
